Hugo Valenzuela

Hugo Valenzuela (PhD, 2006) is a full professor and director of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. As an economic anthropologist, he carried out extensive fieldwork in Malaysia, Mexico, and Spain. His main areas of interest are work, consumption, livelihood, poverty, social networks, isolation, precarity and informal economies. He has published extensively on these issues:
