Griet De Lombaerde (PhD Fellow)

Griet De Lombaerde is a PhD candidate and policy researcher at the University of Split's Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism. She holds a master's degree in Policy Economics (Erasmus University Rotterdam) and another in Economic Sciences, majoring in Research (University of Ghent).

Prior to her doctoral studies, Griet worked as a Bluebook trainee at the European Commission's DG Employment, Social Affairs, and Inclusion. She has also worked as a policy researcher at the University of Maastricht, SEOR, and Ecorys in the Netherlands, and as a visiting research assistant at Queen Mary University London.

Her research predominantly revolves around social policies, spanning areas like education, the labour market, health, security and justice, and sustainability. Griet has a keen interest in poverty, inequality, social inclusion, and migration studies. As part of the PRESILIENT project, she focuses on the informal economy in Bolivia.
