Marta Avesani is a doctoral student at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands. Her case study for the Presilient project is Ecuador. She holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Glasgow, specialising in South European Studies, and a BA from the University of Trieste. Her research focuses on the integration and development of the Global South. She has taken part in training courses on the subjects of educational cooperation and good governance, including the Summer Schools at IBEI, the Barcelona Institute of International Studies, and USP, the University of São Paulo.
She has experience in the management of European funding, having worked as administrative coordinator of an Erasmus Mundus Masters programme at Aix-Marseille Université.

My research investigates corruption and informality in the Ecuadorian agri-food sector.
